Carers Swim free
ddWhether you are swimming for fitness or for fun our pools are accessible to all our users. The pools at Mildenhall and Newmarket each have a range of equipment and facilities to enable access for people with disabilities and have 'assisted' and 'accessible' changing rooms. Our accessible equipment includes wheelchair hoists which can be operated either by the individual or by a helper and extended steps with handrails. At our Newmarket pool we have a moveable floor in the teaching pool that allows a variable depth for swimmers depending on ability and in the pool we have a wide range of flotation equipment available.
Optua ‘Big Splash’ Sessions:
Optua ‘Big Splash’ give disabled swimmers and those recovering from illness and injury the opportunity to enjoy swimming without the noise and crowds of public sessions. Volunteer support is always available at these sessions with no charge for carers or volunteers and a swimming instructor is on hand to give expert advice.

Aquagym:
Aquagym fitness equipment is available at both pools and provides a unique gym experience in the water.
Aquagym enables the body to be placed in a non weight bearing position, meaning that less stress is placed on the joints and fewer muscular problems occur and is ideal for people with limited mobility and for rehabilitation.
